Layer interpretation over real artefacts with hologram pyramids, transparent cases and position-triggered rail screens.

What works in this environment

Layer interpretation over real artefacts with hologram pyramids, transparent cases and position-triggered rail screens. In practice the choice comes down to three questions: how close visitors stand, whether the real object must stay visible, and how much wall or floor space is available. A holographic display case answers the first two; a rail screen uses the long wall; a transparent case is the compact option for a single hero object.

Planning notes

• Measure the viewing distance and the ambient light level before choosing panel brightness.
• Allow service access behind cabinets and a concealed power/data route for rail systems.
• Plan content loops around the dwell time: short loops for walk-past zones, triggered chapters for guided tours.
• For valuable objects, combine the cabinet with the venue's own security and insurance arrangements.
